Gifts from Badeesie Designs

So the holidays, and maybe your best friend’s or mom’s birthday, are creeping ever closer. You ought to be buying presents, but ideas are scarce. I’ve been there, and I’m going to try to help. This isn’t just out of the goodness of my heart — all the products linked on this page are things I designed the art for, so if you hit that purchase button, I’m going to be getting a royalty payment, plus possibly a little extra percentage for sending you to the site. So you benefit, I benefit — everybody likes a win-win, right?

Unfortunately, I can’t promise that anything on this page will be right for anybody on your list. But I’ll give it a shot. And if you don’t find the right thing here, hopefully you will somewhere, and soon.

Base prices in US dollars at the time of posting are provided for all items.

1. Large Zipper Pouch

These pouches are great for people looking for useful gifts under $25 – they retail for $17.95 for the small size and $21.95 for a large. They’re on the larger side (6″ x 8.5″ or 8.5″ x 12″), allowing a generous amount of storage space for anything ranging from charging cables and earbuds to small power banks, tablets, and e-readers to gaming supplies to, since they’re machine washable, cosmetics and art supplies. You could even use one as a gift bag for a more extensive present.

2. Tote Bag

But maybe a zip pouch isn’t quite big enough for what your friend needs to carry. In that case, consider a tote bag. These bags are also machine washable and come in three sizes, with the smallest at $29.95 for a 13″ x 13″ bag and the largest costing $36.45 at 18″ x 18″. They can work well for teachers to carry their supplies back and forth between school and home, as beach bags, as gym bags, or more.

3. E-Reader Cover

If your friend is a big reader with a dedicated 7″ Kindle Paperwhite or Colorsoft  Signature, he might enjoy a classy custom case to keep it safe. These cases come in two styles, both retailing for $44.95. One features a single letter monogram, while the other provides space for a name or other meaningful word.

4. Personalized Pickleball or Ping Pong Paddles

You may have noticed that pickleball has gotten pretty popular lately. If your friends have gotten caught up in the trend, maybe they would like some personalized paddles. Or maybe they aren’t so into pickleball, but love table tennis. Well, I have paddles available for both sports in a range of colors. The front features a diagonal stripe which you can personalize with their name and the back shows an art-deco inspired diamond line art design.

5. Set of Placemats

Maybe your friend loves entertaining and throwing dinner parties, or maybe she just likes adding splashes of color everywhere in her life – including in the kitchen where she is eating alone. Either way, a set of placemats could help. These particular placemats are available in linen, canvas, and sateen textured cotton. Whichever option you choose, a pair costs $44.

And a quick note – unlike the other titles in this list which link to a gallery of available designs for each item, the Set of Placemats text above links directly to one particular design. That is because Spoonflower is set up differently than the other retailers I am linking to. For the time being, it is impossible for me to link to a listing of links to placemats. That may change in December. In the meantime, if you would like to check out other design options, check out my Spoonflower storefront and then, upon clicking through to your preferred pattern, scroll down until you see the “Also Available As” menu.

6. Apron

Sticking with the kitchen theme, if your friend or child enjoys cooking or baking and has a tendency to spill or be splashed on, an apron would be a good investment. These aprons come in three sizes that should fit nearly anyone, from children ($25.70) through adults (largest size $32.15).

7. Hot Pad/Oven Mitt Set

Even if your friend isn’t concerned with getting some food on their clothes while cooking, they should want to keep their hands safe from the oven’s heat. That’s where hot pads and oven mitts come in. These are available either individually ($12.25 for the pot holder and $13.25 for the mitt) or as a set with both ($22.45). Or if florals or stripes are your friend’s style, you can go big and combine an apron and a hot pad/oven mitt set for a full kitchen protection set.

8. Throw Blanket

But maybe your friend doesn’t need heat protection. Maybe they need something to keep them warm. So, for those who are always a little chilly, check out my throw blankets. Each pattern comes in both fleece (ranging from $38.45 for 30″ x 40″ to $91.45 for 60″ x 80″) and sherpa ($87.95 for 50″ x 60″ and $109.95 for 60″ x 80″) varieties.

9. Hardcover Journal

If your friend is a journaler, writer, a drawer, or just someone who needs to silently vent every once in a while, these hardcover notebooks could be great. They measure 5″ x 7″ and contain 128 pages of your choice of lined or blank paper and have no spiral, meaning no discomfort from running hands into said spiral while writing. They retail for $27.45. Lined 6″ x 8″ spiral versions may also be an option for $16.45, but their availability has been a bit sporadic lately.

10. Fashion Scarf

For the friend who loves to accessorize, consider a sheer fashion scarf. These scarves come in two sizes. The small (25″ x 25″ at $23.45) is sized to work as a bandana or head wrap, while the large (50″ x 50″ at $59.45) can work as a shawl or sarong. They are easy care, too – machine wash cold, tumble dry low.
